Uniform Policy

For school year 2021-2022 and beyond we will continue with our traditional dress code at Imagine Morningside to include Oxford shirts, khaki bottoms and dress shoes. This look will continue to support our new MicroSociety curriculum program where scholars will develop entrepreneurial, leadership and self-management skills. We believe that a higher standard of dress encourages greater respect for individuals, scholars and others, and results in a higher standard of behavior. In other words, coming to school dressed properly and professionally increases  self worth which encourages academic achievement.

This belief is supported by research into the benefits of uniforms, though conventional wisdom suggests that mandatory uniform policies benefit scholars on specific behavioral issues (attendance and self-control) and academic outcomes. Uniform policies also affect school environments and student outcomes by providing a visible and public symbol of commitment to school improvement and reform. With that said, the Uniform and Dress Code Policy was crafted in an effort to ensure that we “look the part” and represent our school community, Imagine Schools, and Prince George’s County Public Schools with pride and with excellence.
